About
A little about Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan (RPSM)- IF the dog attends training it will be for 10 weeks and the dog learns basic commands like heel, sit, down, stay, come, stand, wait and general manners like not to jump and pull on a leash. All 14 RPSM dogs live together and each dog has 2 trainers. The dogs are with their trainers the whole time unless working on crate training. Once approved for a dog the applicant will fill out a form that will go to the trainers with questions like feeding time, most important commands and if allowed on furniture. They will also get weekly reports written by the trainers with updates of what they are working on and how the dog is doing.

Provide a general description of your neighborhood: Rural, suburban, ect. Are there a lot of children around or dogs running loose?*
Do you have a crate and are willing to use it when not home? If no, why? This will be a new environment and the dog could destroy the house or eat something dangerous.*
Where will the dog be when it is home alone? How many hours will the dog be alone?*
Excercise
Do you have a plan for exercise? (running in your yard, walking etc)*
Please explain Where the dog will be walked/ Play (we do not recommend dog parks) If walking then how often-how many days a week and for how long each walk.
Your expectations
Your home is a new environment with new people so they might have potty accidents. How will this be handled?*
Are you prepared for it to take days or weeks to build a bond like the trainers have with the dog? The dog is trained but is trained to follow a trainer, not a complete stranger, i.e adopter. Each of you have to learn each others cues. and respect. The dogs are like kids. Some dogs will adjust very quick; others take longer.*
Are you willing to run through the dogs commands daily or multiple times a day?*
